When I was approached by Bayview Entertainment to compose a brand new score for the 1920 Silent Film Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde it was a composer's dream come true.
To go back and write 90 mins of music in the classic Golden Age style of film scoring with a slight twist of electronics was a fabulous opportunity to explore the romantic chromatic style of the 1930's and 1940's with an added edge today's synths. Some of my music heroes: Franz Wazman, Bernard Herrmann, Max Stiner were my inspiration, and I am absolutely thrilled with not only the opportunity, but the music.
